General Emergency Assistance

Stop what you're doing and dial 911 if you are in an emergency situation. An emergency is any serious medical problem (chest pain, seizure, bleeding), any type of fire (business, car, building), any life-threatening situation (fights, person with weapons, etc.) or to report crimes in progress.


The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

Dial or text 988 for 24/7 access to call, text and chat assistance from trained crisis counselors who can help people experiencing suicidal, substance use, and/or mental health crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. People can also dial 988 if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support.



For help and hope 24/7, call 1-877-8-HOPENY(467369) or text HOPENY (467369). The HOPEline is staffed by specially trained and supervised mental health professionals with training in addiction and people with lived experience or peer advocates that are available at the request of the caller.

Dial (315)265-2422 to access Reachout, a free, confidential, non-judgmental crisis and information hotline serving residents of St. Lawrence County. Reachout focuses on crisis services and supportive listening, although a host of other services are provided as needed. Reachout operates a mobile crisis team that sends trained counselors to meet and assess people at risk at locations all around the county.
